ZOMBIES, STORMTROOPERS, AND 400 VOLUNTEERS TO
MOVE ICONIC COMIC BOOK STORE THE SILVER SNAIL

WHAT:

Toronto's premier action figure and comic book store The Silver Snail is holding the longest, nerdiest bucket line, ever! To mark their historic move, a veritable army of comic and genre fans will pass boxes, action figures and props from one person to the next, all the way from the old location at 367 Queen Street West to their new location at 329 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto.

Canadian Garrison 501st Legion, an all-volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization, Run for Your Lives, the apocalyptic 5K obstacle race of zombies, Toronto Roller Derby who will act as the move's Roller Hype Crew, the Doctor Who Society of Canada, and many of the over 400 already confirmed long-time supporters of The Silver Snail will be participating, some appearing in CosPlay regalia. This never seen before stunt will create a sci-fi/zombie/creature bucket line of mass proportions.

The event will culminate with participants approaching "Doctor Who" at a life-sized TARDIS(Time and Relative Dimension in Space machine) for their chance to win prizes provided by The Silver Snail and FanExpo.

After 36 years at the Queen Street location, The Silver Snail moves to Yonge and Dundas to a brand-new store which will include The Black Canary Espresso Bar, an in-store café, space for Dungeons & DragonsMagic The Gathering and other role play tournaments, a gallery showcasing the work of local comic artists, and for the first time in a comic book store history in Toronto, a permanent Cintiq station with Sketch Book Pro (provided by Autodesk). Industry experts and local artists will be able to sketch live on the Cintiq then have their work printed in-store. The Silver Snail store is scheduled to open in its new location in September 2012.
